Central American Independence Parade & Festival in Bronx

The 30th Annual Central American Parade and Cultural Festival celebrates the 203rd anniversary of the independence of the Central American countries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, from Spain. September 15th marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, in honor of such historic event. Thousands of people will be in The Bronx to celebrate Central American culture, heritage, and contribution of the of 7.2 million Central Americans and Central American descendants, living in the United States and the 107,759 living in the New York Metropolitan Area. The Central American Independence Parade and Cultural Festival is a celebration of Central American culture and pride in the New York Metropolitan Area. This annual parade continues to honor leaders, educators, entertainers, and celebrities who all have a major impact within the Central American community in the New York Metropolitan Area, and the Central American countries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. After the parade, head to Crotona Park for the Central American Cultural Festival featuring food, live music, performances, arts & crafts, and more. Free admission.
