The Eco Arts Festival is a day of eco-inspired performances, installations and interactive workshops & activities that are free and open to the public produced by Artichoke Dance Company. ​Join us for a day full of arts engagements centered around environmental justice and eco-arts activism. Interactive activities, workshops and visual art exhibitions run 11am-4pm. Performances run 12:45-2:45pm. Tickets are free. Reservations recommended. Workshops: Participate in creating an installation focused on endangered aquatic animals with artist January Yoon Cho (11am-4pm) Paper making workshop with Rejin Leys (11am-2pm) Eat hors d’oeuvres featuring edible bugs from Samuel Ezra Fisch (12:30pm-3pm) Create weavings from recycled fabric with Inez Devereaux (2-4pm) Performances: 12:45 and 2:00pm (45 minutes each) Rulan Tangen/Dancing Earth – Bodies of Water/Earth/Air Artichoke Dance Company – Within the Waters Kristen Klein/Inclined Dance Project – Vista Vannia Ibarguen/VIDA Dance Arts – Daughter of the Lake/Haja de la Laguna 1:30-2pm: a multi-site performance intervention with Dancing Earth. Visual Art: Traci Johnson – Remember My Compass Star (Sculpture) Katie Pell – Super Fun Site (Installation) S Emsaki – Postcards from the Atlantic (Installation) The Brooklyn-based Artichoke Dance Company is one of the nation’s leading eco-arts organizations, delighting audiences of all ages with dynamic site-reflective performance works and educational programs.
