Having just celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2025, ASL Slam joins the Big Umbrella Festival at the David Rubenstein Atrium this April. The company’s mission is to preserve, nurture, showcase, and promote American Sign Language and the Deaf/signing community through performance by offering a stage for community members to share and create traditional, contemporary, and experimental sign language literature. ASL Slam provides a safe space for the Sign Language community to play with their language(s), opening up the stage to performers and audience members to come up and rap, rhapsodize, and rehash in sign language! This performance is a part of the Big Umbrella Festival, welcoming kids, teens, and adults for a series of multi-sensory, interactive, and engaging programming, designed with and for neurodiverse audiences. AGES 13+ Free admission.
