Nick Davis is a New York writer and filmmaker. Among his films are Once Upon a Time in Queens about the 1986 New York Mets for ESPN’s 30 for 30 series, Ted Williams: “The Greatest Hitter Who Ever Lived” for PBS’ American Masters, and JACK: THE LAST KENNEDY FILM for CBS. His recent film, THIS ORDINARY THING, a documentary about non-Jews who helped Jews during the Holocaust, featuring a voice cast including Helen Mirren, Jeremy Irons, F. Murray Abraham, Carrie Coon, and Ellen Burstyn, was nominated for the Cinema for Peace Dove Documentary of the Year and is available online. His book about his grandfather and great-uncle, Competing With Idiots: Herman and Joe Mankiewicz, a Dual Portrait, was shortlisted for the LA Times book prize as biography of the year in 2021. Last year, after years of collaborating informally, he and his wife the novelist Jane Mendelsohn formed their new production company, Series of Dreams. YOU HAD TO BE THERE is the company’s first film. He and Jane live downtown and have two daughters and a dog. Victor Garber is an acclaimed actor with six Emmy and four Tony nominations across film, television, and stage. His film credits include TITANIC, ARGO, MILK, HAPPIEST SEASON, DARK WATERS, SICARIO, THE FIRST WIVES CLUB, SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE, and LEGALLY BLONDE. On television, he earned three Emmy nominations for ABC’s Alias, plus nods for guest roles on Frasier and Will & Grace and for the TV movie LIFE WITH JUDY GARLAND: ME AND MY SHADOWS. He currently stars as Harry Svensson on Family Law, and has recurred on And Just Like That..., Ghost, The Orville, Power, and The Flash, with guest appearances on Schitt’s Creek, Web Therapy, Nurse Jackie, Damages, and Glee. Other TV credits includes Legends of Tomorrow, Deception, and Eli Stone. On stage, Garber has been Tony-nominated for Damn Yankees, Lend Me a Tenor, Deathtrap, and Little Me, and appeared in the original Broadway productions of Sweeney Todd, Noises Off, Arcadia, and The Devil’s Disciple, as well as Art and, most recently, Hello, Dolly! opposite Bernadette Peters.
