Feat - Giovanna, Lauren R, Mark McQueen, Naé Adjoa + MORE! GET TO KNOW ARTISTS: Featuring Giovanna, a singer-songwriter whose music balances vulnerability with catchy hooks that stay with the listener long after the show is over. Blending genres such as dream pop, folk, and alternative pop, her goal is to make music that says what others struggle to articulate; Lauren R, a genre-bending singer/songwriter based in NYC. With a musical theater background, her songs are shaped by sharp storytelling and wit, and delivered by her rich contralto pipes!; Mark McQueen, he fell in love with the piano as a child playing the first haunting chords of Pachelbel’s Canon in D — a moment that lit a lifelong fire for music. Today, he channels that spark into a New York City fantasy of neon-lit streets, glamour, and the shadows beneath it; Naé Adjoa, creates performance pieces that encourage community action. As a solo artist, she takes inspiration from Jazz, Neo-Soul, and Hip-hop. These genres are known to shed light on the plights and joys of the black community. As an organizer, she works with multidisciplinary artists to create programming for upcoming artists, such as workshops, jam sessions, and independent showcases.
