STooPS Art & Community announces the return of its beloved STooPS Summer Festival, a vibrant, multi-generational free block party and cultural art crawl, taking place. Now in its 13th year, the festival embraces the theme “Joy As Resistance,” a powerful affirmation that gathering, creating, and celebrating together is itself an act of resilience and cultural preservation. This year’s slogan—“Joy is the heartbeat, Resistance is the rhythm.”—captures the spirit of a community that continues to thrive through connection and creativity. At the core of the festival is the Annual Art Crawl, where local homeowners collaborate with artists to host performances across stoops, sidewalks, and storefronts—turning the block into a living, breathing gallery. Festivalgoers can expect a dynamic range of artistic expression, including: Live music, dance, theater, spoken word, and visual art Direct interaction with artists between performances A curated SightSeer Schedule, guiding attendees through the day’s events The festival’s Kiddie Korner ensures that younger attendees and families are fully engaged, offering hands-on creative activities designed for all ages.
