On Saturday, April 25th, 2026, the tradition of African storytelling takes center stage at The Theatre Center in Times Square, bringing the heart of the continent’s oral heritage to Broadway in a powerful, modern showcase. Headlining the evening is Alim Kamara, an internationally respected storyteller, author, and cultural educator from Sierra Leone, known for dynamic performances that blend folklore, history, humor, and life lessons for audiences of all ages. Also prominently featured is Ballet Fe Sa, a high-energy African percussive ensemble blending traditional West African rhythms with contemporary influences from Guinea, Mali, Ivory Coast, and Burkina Faso. Additional featured performers include: Namina Forna — New York Times bestselling Sierra Leonean-American author of The Gilded Ones, The Merciless Ones, and The Eternal Ones, celebrated for powerful, African-centered storytelling. Marion Grey — Sierra Leonean, NYC-based actress, writer, and performer with a poetic voice and commanding stage presence. This year’s theme is “Know Yourself. Claim Your Power.” Throughout the experience, performers will guide audiences on a journey of reflection, identity, heritage, and inner strength — inspiring each person to recognize the greatness that already lives within them. This is a family-friendly experience — children, parents, and grandparents are all invited. The program will begin promptly at 10:00 AM. Come witness storytelling, music, and culture come alive — vibrant, communal, and unforgettable. Pricing: $20 for kids, $40 for adults
